Aspire Journeys are structured learning paths published by Skillsoft. A journey keeps you working toward an overall goal, helping you to achieve your career aspirations. Each stage takes you step-by-step through a diverse set of topic areas. As you move along the path, each journey builds upon your current knowledge allowing you to broaden and strengthen your skills.

Journeys are made up of required tracks, which contain all of the learning content for a specific path or job function, as well as any optional resources. To complete a journey, you must complete all of the tracks within the learning path.

Digital Badges are visual, shareable, and verifiable records that represent your accomplishments of select Complete IT Academy Skillsoft courses you have successfully completed. You can share your achievements in email or social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter.

When you earn a Digital Badge, it contains metadata content that validates who earned it, when it was issued, and for what course. They are built on the Open Badges specification.

A channel is where you can go to find all content about a particular subject areas of interest. Channels present several types of content, using different views and presentation options to assist you with determining what content best meets your needs. Channels are the core building blocks of the Complete IT Academy library and can contain courses, videos (available through courses), books, book summaries, and audiobooks.

Channels have different sets of filters based on the subject covered. Channel filters that may be available include:

Technology: A specific technology and version within the channel (for example, in the PowerPoint channel, technologies could include PowerPoint 2016 (Windows), PowerPoint 2016 (Mac), PowerPoint Online, PowerPoint iPhone, and more).

Expertise Level: An indicator of the necessary familiarity you should have with the subject matter (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced). Not all expertise levels are available with every channel.

IT Certification courses are typically very thorough and course time commitment varies by software vendor. The average class time invested also varies by student. On average the IT Certification course require about 20 to 50 hours study time per certification. The non-certification courses in the Business Library usually take considerably less time to complete. And quick skills are generally answered in a video that lasts between 3-5 minutes.

The Complete IT Academy is a test preparation training service and does not administer any IT Certification tests. These certification tests are typically proctored by the software company or organization that awards the certifications, or by an independent proctored center. Students can make testing arrangements by contacting the certification sanctioning organizations such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Amazon, Cisco, ITIL and others. There typically is a cost for test participation.

There is a variety of support options that range from mentors to study aids and documents associated with most of the certification courses right in the training coursework. Many of our IT certification courses offer live, individualized course coaching provided by Skillsoft’s network of course Mentors.

The Skillsoft IT Certification Mentors provide expert guidance, support and encouragement to the students who are pursuing their IT certifications. For the popular certifications exams, the Skillsoft Mentors offer year-round, 24x7x365 support via email, chat and in some cases, by phone. For many certification exams, mentors are available Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm EST time.

Yes! Complete IT Academy students can reach a mentor by clicking the “Ask a Mentor” icon on the course page. This action will launch an immediate chat session or send an email for a prompt response. Mentoring services can be found in a large number of learning channels and coves several certification vendors and subjects, including Microsoft, ISC2, ISTQB, ITIL®, Jave, C++, HTML5 & CSS3, Visual Studio, Project Management Institute and much more.

When more than one paid subscriber is included in an account, a Learning Admin is designated by and for your organization. When a second subscriber is added, either at the time of the initial registration or if a second subscriber is added later, you will be prompted to identify the Learning Admin during the sign-up process.

 

A Learning Admin can be a paid subscriber or a non-subscribing Admin. If your account has at least two paid subscribers and you want to designate a non-paid Admin, please  click Contact Us in the navigation bar at the bottom of our pages, or email us at support@completeitacademy.com . A Support Team member will contact you to activate this function for your account and train the Learning Admin on how to assign courses, set time lines, and report on student progress.

As the Learning Admin, you have the ability to make learning assignments your learners. Here are the basic steps for doing so.

 

  1. From the Learning Portal home page, click on Assignments in the top center navigation bar
  2. Click on the New Assignment button on the top left
  3. Enter the assignment information onto the form on the New Assignment page

A temporary connection error (Error: SS009) typically occurs when one of two things happen.

First, it can be caused by an internet connection error between your computer and the internet. In this case, simply refresh your web browser. With most browsers, you can refresh your browser by simultaneously pressing the Control and F5 buttons on your keyboard. If you still receive a connection error message, wait a few minutes and refresh your browser again.

A second event that can cause a connection error is when we are performing our routine site maintenance and our Learning Portal website is offline. Routine maintenance occurs on Sundays from 1:00 – 3:00 p.n. EST. In this case, please wait until the maintenance period expires before attempting to connect again.

After you fill out our online form by simply entering your name and email address, we will send you a password that will allow you to access our evaluation website. This site includes most of the features of our paid subscription site and will give you a very detailed look at the most comprehensive online IT training site available. Our evaluation site includes more than 8,000 courses and 50,000 short, single topic videos that support over 100 of the most popular certifications and many other subject areas.

Licenses are not transferable. However, in the event that a subscriber leaves your employ during their subscription term, a one-time transfer may be granted. In such instances, a $50 administrative fee will be charged to cover the cost of the transfer.
